Délicieuse ambiguité / Delicious Ambiguity

Tonight, I was looking at a picture I took about six months ago. I should probably not admit it, but I really like it even if I am not sure why, or perhaps because I don’t know why. Anyway, that photograph makes me wonder. When I look at it, words come, different, indistinct, and ambivalent. So, I decided to surf the Internet for quotations with those key words. Then I made a selection. Quotations I liked, quotations that made me smile, but are they quotations about that photograph? Before you read them, a piece of advice: “Read not to contradict and confute; nor to believe and take for granted; nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider.” (Francis Bacon, 1561-1626, British Philosopher, Essayist, Statesman).
Voilà donc le résultat du hasard et de l’esprit qui s’emballe :
"What an antithetical mind! -tenderness, roughness - delicacy, coarseness - sentiment, SENSUALITY - soaring and groveling, dirt and deity - all mixed up in that one compound of inspired clay!" (Lord Byron)
"I've always felt that SEXUALITY is a really slippery thing. In this day and age, it tends to get categorized and labelled, and I think labels are for food. Canned food." (Michael Stipe)
"UNCERTAINTY and mystery are energies of life. Don't let them scare you unduly, for they keep boredom at bay and spark creativity." (R. I. Fitzhenry)"Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious AMBIGUITY." (Gilda Radner)
"The flower is the poetry of reproduction. It is the example of the eternal SEDUCTIVENESS of life." (Jean Giraudoux)
"When God created two SEXEs, he may have been overdoing it." (Charles M. Smith)
"The three SEXEs are men, women, and professors." (J. E. Spingarn)
"The principal mark of genius is not perfection but originality, the opening of new FRONTIERs." (Arthur Koestler)
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a MASK, and he will tell you the truth." (Oscar Wilde)
"Imagination and fiction MAKE UP more than three quarters of our life." (Simone Weil)"Once I MAKE UP my mind, I'm full of indecision." (Oscar Levant)

I'm weighing and considering...

I find the picture slightly disturbing but not in a bad way. In a thought-provoking way.
